Vox Luminis & Ensemble Alkymia Among Headliners for Misteria Paschalia Festival 2026

Kraków’s Misteria Paschalia Festival has announced its lineup for 2026.

This article only features vocal concerts.

Voces Suaves and Gli Incogniti present Dietrich Buxtehude’s “Membra Jesu nostri.”

Performance Date: March 30, 2026


Sopranos Violaine Le Chenadec and Perrine Devillers, mezzo-sopranos Léa Trommenschlager and Anaïs Bertrand, tenor Paco Garcia, baritones Romain Bockler and Renaud Bres, and bass Roland ten Weges perform works by Monteverdi, Cavalli, Rossi, Laricotta, and others. They are joined by Le Poème Harmonique conducted by Vincent Dumestre.

Performance Date: March 31, 2026


Up next is Bach’s “Johannes-Passion,” BWV 245. The NFM Choir and NFM Boys’ Choir perform alongside the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra. Andrzej Kosendiak conducts.

Tenor Jacob Lawrence and bass Sönke Tams Freier are soloist with Vox Luminis in Sebastiani’s “Matthäus-Passion.” Steffani’s “Stabat Mater” is also performed. Lionel Meunier directs.

Performance Date: April 2, 2026


Soprano Tereza Zimková, alto Aneta Petrasová, and bass Tomáš Šelc solo with Collegium Vocale 1704 in Zelenka’s “Miserere in C minor.” ZWV 57 and “Responsoria pro hebdomada sancta,” ZWV 55. Works by Durante and Caldara are also performed. Václav Luks conducts Collegium 1704.

Ensemble Alkymia led by Mariana Delgadillo Espinoza presents “In Honorem Virgins.”

Performance Date: April 4, 2026


The festival closes with Händel’s “La Resurrezione,” HWV 47. Soloists are sopranos Hasnaa Bennani and Suzanne Jérôme, alto Lucile Richardot, tenor Emiliano Gonzalez-Toro, and bass Robert Gleadow. Le Concert de la Loge is led by Julien Chauvin.
