Volksoper Wien Announces 2023-24 Season

New Productions
Strauss’ “Salome” will star Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke, Ursula Pfitzner, Astrid Kessler, Tommi Hakala, and JunHo You. Omer Meir Wellber conducts the Salzburger Festspiele 1992 by Luc Bondy.
Performance Dates: Sept. 15-Oct. 29, 2023
Offenbach’s “Die Reise zum Mond” is set to be conducted by Alfred Eschwé and will star Carsten Süss, Aaron Casey Gould, Alexandra Flood, Christoph Stocker, Jaye Simmons, Sofia Vinnik, and Jonathan Hamouda Kügler.
Performance Dates: Oct. 14, 2023-June 25, 2024
“Lass uns die Welt vergessen – Volksoper 1938” is set to star Johanna Arrouas, Theresa Dax, Sofia Vinnik, Anita Götz, Ulrike Steinsky, Wolfgang Gratschmaier, and Nicolaus Hagg. Keren Kagarlitsky conducts.

Bernstein’s “West Side Story” will be conducted by Ben Glassberg and directed by Lotte de Beer.

Lehár’s “Die lustige Witwe” stars Szymon Komasa, Hedwig Ritter, Anett Fritsch, Daniel Schmutzhard, Jakob Semotan, and Aaron Casey Gould. Omer Meir Wellber conducts the production by Mariame Clément.

Matilda Sterby, Rebecca Nelsen, Leonardo Capalbo, Timothy Fallon, and Andrei Bondarenko perform Puccini’s “La Rondine.” Alexander Joel conducts the production by Lotte de Beer.
