Vivica Genaux, Valer Sabadus & Xavier Sabata Headline Festival de Froville 2021

The Festival of baroque and sacred music in Froville, France has announced its 2021 edition. The festival will take place from May 28 until July 6, 2021.

For the purposes of this article, we will focus only on vocal performances. Here is the look.

Mezzo-soprano Vivica Genaux will perform works by Antonio Vivaldi and Astor Pantaleón Piazzolla. Andres Gabetta will play the violin, while Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi will play the accordion.

Performance date: May 28, 2021

Soprano Gwendoleen Blondeel, mezzo-sopranos Alice Duport-Percier and Axelle Verner, and baritone Romain Bockler will perform works by Lully, Purcell, Grabu, and Cambert.

Performance date: June 4, 2021

Sopranos Mariana Flores and Ana Vieira Leite will perform works by Dowland and Scarlatti. Leonardo Garcia Alarcon conducts the Cappella Mediterranea.

Performance date: June 5, 2021

Baritone Nicolas Achten will perform the works by Giulio Romolo Caccini and Francesca Caccini.

Performance date: June 12, 2021

Soprano Bárbara Kusa and mezzo-soprano Marie Favier will interpret madrigals and motets by Monteverdi.

Performance date: June 20, 2021

Countertenor Xavier Sabata will present arias by Vivaldi and Bonnoncini. Ophélie Gaillard will direct.

Performance date: June 25, 2021

Countertenor Valer Sabadus will perform works by Vivaldi, Handel, Ravel, Fauré, and Ferré.

Performance date: June 27, 2021

Finally, tenor Reinoud Van Mechelen will present traditional Irish music. Anna Besson plays the flute.
