Vittorio Grigolo Releases Recording of ‘Nessun Dorma’
By Francisco SalazarBluebelldisc Music releases the digital single “NESSUN DORMA” from Act three of Puccini’s “Turandot” featuring Vittorio Grigolo.
In a press release the tenor said, “Today, this aria should not be viewed merely as the expression of love for another person, but as the embodiment of a deeper idea: the meaning of risk. Nessun dorma! – like the unknown prince Calaf, who places his very life at stake for Turandot. It also serves as a message to the young: one must be willing to take risks. This is where the modern beauty of this romance lies, in a society that needs to invest in talent and in younger generations, which in turn must be ready to put themselves on the line and make sacrifices for what they believe in.”
Grigolo also noted that he wished to pay a tribute to the centenary of the premiere of “Turandot” at La Scala in Milan which took place on the April 25, 1926 under the baton of Arturo Toscanini.
The recording will also be released with a video, filmed at the Arena di Verona and available on the artists YouTube channel.
