GRAMMY Award-winning mezzo-soprano Victoria Livengood has joined Encompass Arts for management.

The mezzo announced her new management via instagram, saying, “I’m delighted to be joining the roster and family at Encompass Arts, with my dear friend of more than four decades, Kathy Olsen, at the helm.”

Livengood earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Music degree from the Boston Conservatory of Music. She has been the recipient of several honorary doctorate degrees. She began her opera career in 1985 as a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and made her Met debut in 1991. She is know for her performances as Carmen, as well as Herodias in “Salome,” Giulietta in “Les Contes d’Hoffmann,” Maddalena in “Rigoletto,” and Prince Orlovsky in “Die Fledermaus.”

She has served as the head of the classical music program and master class series at the Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival in the Pocono Mountains and was on the voice faculty at the University in Bogota, Colombia. She has served as a judge for many international vocal competitions including the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in North Carolina and in Boston, the NATS competition in North Carolina, The Queens Opera competition in NYC and the Washington International Vocal Competition.

Livengood continues to be a sought-out teacher, leader of masterclasses, recording artist, and performer. Later this year, she will perform the role of Baba in Menotti’s “The Medium” at Opera Carolina.
