Veronica Simeoni Replaces Ekaterina Semenchuk in Teatro alla Scala’s ‘Don Carlo’

The Teatro alla Scala has announced a new cast change for its production of “Don Carlo.”

The company noted that Veronica Simeoni will replace Ekaterina Semenchuk in the role of Eboli for the Dec. 30 and Jan. 2 Performances.

Simeoni recently performed at the Israeli Opera and Teatro Comunale di Bologna. This season she is set to perform at the Teatro La Fenice. Simeoni has performed the role of Eboli at the  Teatro La Fenice, Opernhaus Zurich, and Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

She is set to join a cast that includes Francesco Meli, María José Siri, Michele Pertusi, Ain Anger, and Luca Salsi. Riccardo Chailly conducts a production by Lluis Pascal.

“Don Carlo” opens on Dec. 7, 2023, and will run through Jan. 2, 2024.
