Verdi Chorus Cancels January 25 Performance
By David SalazarThe Verdi Chorus has canceled its upcoming “Verdi Chorus Sing-Along” as a result of the Los Angeles fires.
“This last week has been an unprecedented tragedy in Los Angeles. Our hearts are with all who have been deeply affected by the fires that have devastated our community. So many people’s lives have been changed forever. At least two of our own chorus members have lost their homes and several are still unsure as to the safety of their homes after evacuation. Our thoughts and prayers are with them,” Anne Marie Ketchum, Founding Artistic Director of the Verdi Chorus, said in an official press release.
The concert was originally scheduled for Jan. 25, 2025.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic recently canceled performances in light of the fires.
