The Verbier Festival has announced a conductor change for its production of Verdi’s “Falstaff” on August 4, 2024.

The company said that Vincenzo Milletarì will conduct the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra and a cast of young artists from the Atelier Lyrique replacing Ion Marin, who was originally announced.

Milletarì recently conducted at the Oslo Opera leading Rossini’s “Cenerentola” and the Sinfonica di Milano leading Puccini’s “Suor Angelica,” as part of the celebrations for the composer’s 100th anniversary. Forthcoming engagements include Verdi’s “Otello” at the Goteborg Opera, and Verdi’s “La Traviata” at the Freiburg Theatre.

“Falstaff” is set to star Milan Siljanov, Felicitas Wrede, Luna Seongeun Park, Chelsea Laggan, Minki Hong, Wu Fei, Fleuranne Brockway, Mark Kurmanbayev, Dafydd Jones, and Adam Catangui.

The performance will be broadcast on Medici.TV.
