Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Giulio Pelligra & Alexandros Stavrakakis Lead Teatro Massimo di Palermo Online Concert

The Teatro Massimo di Palermo will livestream its concert on Jan. 31, 2021.

Mezzosoprano Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, tenor Giulio Pelligra and bass Alexandros Stavrakakis will perform a program that includes Sergej Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1 in D major op. 25, and Igor Stravinsky’s “Pulcinella.” Gabriele Ferro will conduct the Teatro Massimo Orchestra.

The concert is the second of planned live streams from Teatro Massimo di Palermo, following a Jan. 26 showcase featuring Carmen Giannattasio and Markus Werba.

Vasilisa Berzhanskaya recently performed the role of Isabella in Rossini’s “L’Italiana in Algeri” at Arena di Verona, the role of Romeo in Bellini’s “I Capuleti e i Montecchi” at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and the role of Rosina in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” at Teatro del Maggio Musicale, Theater Basel, and Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Giulio Pelligra recently performed the role of Tebaldo in Bellini’s “I Capuleti e i Montecchi” at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and the role of Alfredo Germont in Verdi’s “La Traviata” at Opera di Genova. The tenor is scheduled to return to the stage in the role of Sir Edgardo di Ravenswood in Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Angers Nantes Opéra in March 2021.

Bass Alexandros Stavrakakis recently performed the role of Colline in Puccini’s “La Bohème”, and the role of Il Commendatore in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” at the Semperoper Dresden.
