
Valentí Oviedo Temporarily Steps Down from Gran Teatre del Liceu

The General Director of Gran Teatre del Liceu, Valentí Oviedo, has temporarily stepped down from his position due to medical reasons related to stress.
Gran Teatre del Liceu reported that Oviedo has been absent since May 1, and is expected to return in early June. Oviedo’s temporary absence coincides with the many changes at Gran Teatre. The company recently named Jonathan Nott as its new Musical Director. Salvador Alemany, President of the Board of Trustees also plans to step down after the summer, when his five-year term expires.
Oviedo has served in his role at Gran Teatre del Liceu since 2018.
