By Chris Ruel

The Vache Baroque Festival has announced its Ukraine Fundraiser concert at Grosvenor Chapel in London on May 19, 2022.

Featuring award-winning Kyiv-born pianist Sasha Grynyuk and a consort of Vache Baroque Singers, the program comprises music by Purcell and Baldassare Galuppi, along with 16th and 17th century Italian and English vocal music by Marenzio, Byrd, Dowland, Gibbons, and Handel.

Grynyuk has garnered wins at over 10 competitions, including Guildhall School of Music’s most prestigious award—the Gold Medal— previously won by such stars as Jacqueline Du Pré and Bryn Terfel.

In a press statement, Festival Co-founders Jonathan Darbourne and Betty Makharinsky remarked, “We categorically oppose Russia’s invasion and perpetration of war crimes against the Ukrainian people. It feels imperative that in this time of great need, we offer them our moral and financial support.”
