University of Southern California Thornton School of Music Announces 2024 Performances

The University of Southern California Thornton School of Music has released a preview of its 2024 performances.

For the purposes of this article only vocal and opera works are included.

Opera scenes are led under the direction of music director Brent McMunn and resident stage director Ken Cazan.

Performance Date: February  2, 2024

The new music ensemble Thornton Edge, is led by Donald Crockett. The concert features music by Morton Feldman and graduate student composers Anuj Bhutani, Timothy Peterson, and Veronica Ratliff.

Performance Date: February 27, 2024

The USC Thornton Concert Choir presents “Pacifica.”

Performance Date: April 5, 2024

The USC Thornton Apollo Chorus and Oriana Choir present a program of choral music.

Performance Date: April 7, 2024

The University Chorus, an ensemble of USC students, alumni, staff, and faculty present a concert at the St. Vincent de Paul Church.

Performance Date: April 13, 2024

The USC Thornton Chamber Singers present an evening concert led by Tram Sparks, chair of the Choral and Sacred Music department. The concert will also feature the USC Gospel Choir led by Marcus Desir.

Performance Date: April 17, 2024

“La Passion de Simone” and “The Juniper Tree” are presented on a double bill.

Performance Date: April 18-21, 2024

The Chamber Music Festival will feature “Vocal Arts”on the third night of the festival.

Performance Date: April 23, 2024
