University College Opera to Present Double Bill

London’s University College Opera⁩ has announced a production of Rameau’s “La naissance d’Osiris” and Mozart’s “Thamos, König in Ägypten” at The Bloomsbury Theatre.

The double bill is a return for University College Opera after a brief hiatus. The night will begin with a rendition of Mozart’s only known incidental music for “Thamos, King of Egypt.” and will be followed by Rameau’s work that includes a pastoral scene of rejoicing shepherds by Jupiter’s temple.

The cast for Mozart’s work will include Isaac London, Anika Jayanth, Maria Khokar, Rafael de Menezes, and Alex Saika, while the Rameau opera will star Matthew Gilchrist, Rory Benton, Charlotte Khan, William Tallentire, and Lottie Craven. Charles Peebles conducts the opera, which will be produced by Maya Banerjee and Michele Chan.

The double-bill will be presented on March 25 and 26
