TVPeru to Broadcast Festival Granda’s ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’
By David SalazarTVPeru is set to stream a performance of Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” from the Festival Granda in May 2019.
The comedic masterpiece will star Gurgen Baveyan as Figaro, Pietro Adaìni as the Count Almaviva, Chiara Amarù as Rosina, Marco Mimica as Don Basilio, Pablo Ruiz as Don Bartolo, Dorian Lefebre as Berta, Paolo Campos as Fiorello, and Alfonso Orbegoso as the Oficial.
Iván López Reynoso conducts the showcase in a production by Lev Pugliese.
Prior to arriving in Peru in 2019, Pugliese’s production was originally mounted in Italy in 2007 with Ernesto Palacios in the role of Count of Almaviva.
This is the latest opera to be presented on TVPeru as part of its “Noches de Opera” series. The company previously showcased an award-winning production of Verdi’s early work “Alzira.”
