Tulsa Opera Announces Solidarity with Tulsa Opera Signature Chorus

By David Salazar

Following news that Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College will close at the end of its current season, Tulsa Opera announced that it remains committed to the Tulsa Opera Signature Chorus (TOSC).

Tulsa Opera has partnered with TOSC for many years and serves as the artistic home of the symphony’s resident chorus. Per an official press release, the company said it learned of the closure through the public announcement, alongside the broader Tulsa community. TOSC is a community ensemble, and its performances have regularly been part of the Tulsa Opera mainstage season.

Tulsa Opera said its plans, rehearsals, and performances for the 2026 to 2027 season will proceed as scheduled. That includes TOSC’s performances of “Christmas in Tulsa” and “Carmina Burana” with Signature Symphony, as well as spring performances with Tulsa Opera that have yet to be announced. The company added that the closure will require it to rethink a partnership that has been part of TOSC since its creation.

The company’s 2026-27 season includes performances of Adamo’s “Little Women,” Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” and “The Impresario,” and Heggie’s “At the Statue of Venus,” which will be presented alongside Menotti’s “The Telephone” in the Voices After Dark double bill “Love on Hold.”
