Tulsa Opera has announced a cast change for its upcoming Act two showcase of “Tosca” as part of the President’s Council Dinner Concert.

The company revealed that Leah Crocetto has withdrawn from the performance. In her stead, audiences will experience the talents of Kara Shay Thomson on Oct. 8, 2024 at 6 p.m.

Thomson has performed the title role of “Tosca” all over the country with such companies as Florida Grand Opera, Portland Opera, Atlanta Opera, Arizona Opera, Kentucky Opera, Dayton Opera, Central City Opera, Intermountain Opera, Opera on the James, Opera Festival of New Jersey, and Sarasota Opera. This performance marks her Tulsa Opera debut.

“We are honored that Kara Shay Thomson has graciously agreed to step in as a last-minute replacement for Act two of Tosca at the Tulsa Opera President’s Council Dinner Concert,” said Artistic Director Aaron Beck in an official press release. “While we wish Leah Crocetto a speedy recovery, we’re excited to have Kara Shay’s remarkable talent and commanding presence, alongside the wonderful Michael Chioldi, for what will surely be an unforgettable evening of opera in Tulsa.”

She will be joined by baritone Michael Chioldi alongside pianist Lyndon Meyer and Tulsa Operas Filstrup Resident Artists.
