The Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) is set to launch its World Bay Arts Dialogue Project.
As part of the project, the organization will tour China with youth from the Guangdong Experimental Middle School Choir, with the two ensembles performing from Oct. 4-14, 2024 at the Shenzhen, Guangdong Xinghai Music Hall, and Zhuhai Grand Theatre Concert Hall.
“Music is one of the greatest unifiers in the world,” said YPC Founder and Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez in an official press release. “No matter where you live, what your beliefs, or what language you speak, music has the ability to bring people together and remind us that we are all global citizens. That’s why I am so proud of this project and the message it continues to send to our young people and to the world.”
The two organizations have collaborated over the years in China, Spain, and California. For this tour, 40 YPC choristers will be hosted by families in Guangdong. The favor will be reciprocated in 2025 when 40 singers from the Guangdong Experimental Middle School Choir will be hosted by YPC.
