Tribeca New Music to Present ‘New York Stories’

Tribeca New Music will present “New York Stories” on Nov. 14, 2024.

The showcase will feature three pieces by such composers as Arthur Gottschalk, Edmund Cionek, and William Bolcom. The performance will be held at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

Kicking off the program is Gottschalk’s “Six Counteracts: When George Met Dorothy,” interpreted by bass-baritone Timothy Jones and pianist Scott Cuellar.

Then comes Cionek’s “Prelude and Five Dreams of Walt Whitman.” Soprano Natalie Ballenger, soprano Charlotte Derrick, tenor Daniel Kamalic, and baritone Markel Reed are joined by pianist Matthew Stephens.

The program ends with Bolcolm’s “Cabaret Songs” interpreted by Jones and Cuellar.

The concert kicks off at 7 p.m. local time.
