Tomasz Konieczny, Lise Lindstrom, Dmitri Hvorostovsky & Waltraud Meier Headline Wiener Staatsoper Streaming Slate

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced the next slate of operas that it will be presenting on its streaming platform over the next week.
First up is Verdi’s “Don Carlo” from 2015 with Stefano Secco, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Maria Pia Piscitelli, Béatrice Uria-Monzon, and Ferruccio Furlanetto. Marco Armiliato conducts the production by Daniele Abbado.
Streaming Date: Jan. 19, 2021
Next up is Richard Strauss’ “Salome” from January 2020 featuring Lise Lindstrom, Michael Volle, and Waltraud Meier. Michael Boder conducts the production by Boleslaw Barlog.
Streaming Date: Jan. 20, 2021
The company will then live stream Verdi’s “Nabucco” starring Plácido Domingo, Freddie De Tommaso, Riccardo Zanellato, and Anna Pirozzi. Marco Armiliato will conduct the production by Günter Krämer.
Streaming Date: Jan. 22, 2021
Berg’s “Lulu” from 2017 features Agneta Eichenholz, Bo Skovhus, Charles Workman, Angela Denoke, and Franz Grundheber. Ingo Metzmacher conducts the production by Willy Decker.
Streaming Date: Jan. 23, 2021
A 2013 presentation of Wagner’s “Das Rheingold” will follow. The production stars Tomasz Konieczny, Norbert Ernst, Jochen Schmeckenbecher, Herwig Pecoraro, Michaela Schuster, and Caroline Wenborne, among others. Adam Fischer conducts.
Streaming Date: Jan. 24, 2021
Ending the current slate of announced streams is a 2013 performance of “Die Walküre” starring Christopher Ventris, Ain Anger, Waltraud Meier, Linda Watson, and Tomasz Konieczny. Adam Fischer conducts the production by Sven-Eric Bechtolf.
