By David Salazar

Toledo Opera has canceled its outdoor performance for May 3, 2023 due to cold weather.

In an official press statement, the company revealed that despite the cancelation on May 3, the other performances on May 10 and 17 at the Wildwood Preserve Metropark would continue “rain or shine.” Furthermore, the organization noted that “in the event of inclement weather in the next two weeks, Opera Outdoors will be moved from the front lawn of the Manor House to inside the Manor House.”

The showcases feature Toledo Opera’s 2022-23 Resident Artists in concert. The artists include Sara Mortensen (soprano), Julia Gries (mezzo soprano), Brendan J. Boyle (Tenor) Matthew Payne (baritone), and Steven Naylor (pianist).

The May 3 performance was the first in a series of five shows that will continue on Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m. at the Toledo Farmer’s Market.
