Toledo Opera Cancels Final Outdoor Performance

Toledo Opera has canceled its Outdoor Opera performance on Sept. 21, 2022.

The company announced via email that the performance was canceled due to a forecast of high winds the possibility of precipitation.

The Outdoor Opera series kicked off on Sept. 7 and was set to run through the 21st for a total of five performances. The showcase featured such artists as soprano Sara Mortensen, mezzo Imara Miles, tenor Brendan J. Boyle, baritone Matthew Payne, and pianist Steven Naylor performing a wide range of music.

Next up, the company presents a double bill of “Suor Angelica” and “Cavalleria Rusticana” in mid-October. “The Merry Widow” will follow in February before the season ends with a celebration of major choral moments in opera in April.
