Tiroler Festospiele Erl Announces death of Klemens Haselsteiner

The Tiroler Festospiele Erl has announced the passing of Klemens Haselsteiner on Jan. 17, 2025.

Jonas Kaufmann’s Artistic Director said, “It was with great shock that the Tiroler Festspiele Erl learned of the death of Klemens Haselsteiner. The son of the patron and maker of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, Hans Peter Haselsteiner, was very connected to the festival personally and in the context of his work as CEO of STRABAG SE. The Tiroler Festspiele Erl and all employees are deeply saddened and our thoughts are with his family, whom we wish from the bottom of our hearts all the best during this difficult time.”

Haselsteiner was 44 and according to a spokesperson, he died of natural causes.

As the CEO of Strabag, he made the company become one of Europe’s largest construction firms, with a reported annual revenue exceeding 19 billion euros.
