Baritone Timothy Jones will headline “Politics and Premieres” on Feb. 19, 2023.

The showcase, which will take place at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York City, will feature the world premiere of Arthur Gottschalk’s “LOSER: The Wit and Wisdom of Donald J. Trump 45th President of the United States of America,” Will Healy’s “Mariners,” “Smalls Spaces,” and “Coaster.” The concert will come to a close with the premiere of George Meyer’s “Good for You.”

“LOSER: The Wit and Wisdom of Donald J. Trump 45th President of the United States of America” will spotlight issues of misogyny, racism, and tyranny, by using public domain quotations by Trump. The work is “delicious irony,” per the composer. The work was originally set to premiere in July 2022, but was canceled due to complications resulting from COVID-19.

Jones has performed all around the world. Among his major career highlights was a performance of Kevin Puts’ “Einstein on Mercer Street.”
