Thornton School of Music Announces Fall 2022 Slate
By David SalazarThe University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music has announced its fall 2022 slate.
For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal performances.
The season kicks off with the Chamber Singers and Concert Choir showcasing a program of music by Sydney Guillaum and Zoltán Kodály. There will also be music by Lili Boulanger, Stephen Paulus, and Caroline Shaw. The concert will conclude with Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms.”
Performance Date: Oct. 21, 2022
Next up is the USC Thornton Apollo Chorus and Oriana Choir presenting “The Tracks We Leave.” The showcase includes “Speak the Truth” and music by Monteverdi, Purcell, Fauré, Narverud, and LaBarr. There will also be a performance of Nick Strimple’s “Alabado,” a tribute to his final year on the faculty of the university.
