Christine Marquardt has been appointed as Operndirektorin at Theater Chemnitz.

Marquardt will take over the position starting August 1, 2025 and will succeed Jürgen Reitzler on August 1, 2025.

Born in Leipzig she has worked for the Stadttheater Klagenfurt, the Semperoper Dresden, and the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe.

General Director Dr. Christoph Dittrich noted that “he is pleased about the new addition and sees the development of the musical theater division as assured, especially in the Capital of Culture year. We are very pleased to welcome you to our house!”

The Theater Chemnitz is a German municipal theater organization based in Chemnitz and performs opera, ballet, plays, symphonic concerts, and puppet theater in three different venues.
