Theater Bremen has announced its 2023-24 season.

The season opens with John Adams’ “Doctor Atomic.” The opera stars Nadine Lehner, Michał Partyka, Elias Gyungseok Han, and Hidenori Inoue. William Kelley and Stefan Klingele share conducting duties and Frank Hilbrich directs.

Performance Dates: Sept. 16 – Oct. 22, 2023

Iliver Sewell, Ulrike Mayer, Ian Spinetti, Karsten Küsters, and Christian-Andreas Engelhardt star in “Orpheus in the Underworld.” William Kelley conducts a production directed by Frank Hilbrich.

Performance Dates: Oct. 28, 2023 – Jan. 21, 2024

Stefan Klingele will conduct “Macbeth.” Elisabeth Stöppler directs.

Performance Dates: Dec. 10, 2023 – Feb. 11, 2024

Stefan Klingele will conduct “Salomé.” Ulrike Schwab directs.

Performance Dates: Feb. 2 – March 2, 2024

Frakue Loeffel will direct a new production of “La Clemenza di Tito.” Marco Štorman conducts.

Performance Dates: March 28 – May 8, 2024

The final opera production of the year will be “The Love of Three Oranges.” Frank Hilbrich directs.

Performance Dates: May 18 – June 22, 2024

There will also be several opera-adjacent concert events aimed at families and younger audiences.
