The Royal Opera Announces Complete Cast for ‘Der Ring des Nibelungen’

The Royal Opera has announced casting and performance dates for the complete cycle of Richard Wagner’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen” in Barrie Kosky’s production.
This will be the first time that the complete tetralogy is presented in its entirety since the production premiered in 2023 with “Das Rheingold.” Music Director Jakub Hrůša conducts the run, which takes place from Oct. 4 to Nov. 1, 2027.
Christopher Maltman sings Wotan in “Das Rheingold” and “Die Walküre,” joined in “Das Rheingold” by Leigh Melrose as Alberich, Sean Panikkar as Loge and Marina Prudenskaya as Fricka. Amy Ní Fhearraigh is Freia, Wiebke Lehmkuhl is the Voice of Erda, and In Sung Sim and Soloman Howard sing Fasolt and Fafner. Elisabet Strid sings Brünnhilde, Natalya Romaniw is Sieglinde, Stanislas De Barbeyrac is Siegmund, and Howard is Hunding in “Die Walküre.” Andreas Schager sings the title role in “Siegfried.”

With a generation of world-class Wagnerian performers bringing these roles to life, and under the musical leadership of Jakub Hrůša, this promises to be an unmissable journey through one of the most gripping, powerful and transformative dramas ever written for the stage.”
