
The Phoenix Symphony Receives Major Gift From Oliver & Sharon Harper

The gift establishes the Oliver & Sharon Harper Family Legacy for Music Excellence and aims to sustain the Symphony’s mission and strengthen its role as a leading cultural institution in Phoenix and across Arizona.
“The Phoenix Symphony is part of the heart and soul of what Phoenix is all about,” said Dr. Harper. “Because of the dedication of these musicians and their impact on our community, we decided to invest in our Phoenix Symphony.” Sharon Harper added, “A great city has a vibrant arts community. The Symphony connects and inspires people from every background, and we want it to thrive for generations to come.”
Dr. Oliver Harper, a family physician and geriatric specialist, is Chairman Emeritus of The Phoenix Symphony and a former faculty member at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
Meanwhile, Sharon Harper is Chairman and CEO of Plaza Companies. The dup also serve as Honorary Co-Chairs of “CRESCENDO: The Campaign” for The Phoenix Symphony, a $60 million initiative designed to ensure the Symphony’s long-term sustainability.
