The Metropolitan Opera To March In World Pride March

By Francisco Salazar

The Metropolitan Opera has announced that it will march in the world pride parade on June 30, 2019 in New York City.

The company announced via Instagram that Anthony Roth Costanzo and Stephanie Blythe will march alongside 100 company members in the parade. It will mark the first time the company marches in the pride parade.

The New York City Opera marched in the parade for the past two years, while other companies, including the San Francisco Opera and Washington National Opera have participated in their respective city pride parades.

For those absent from the parade, the Metropolitan Opera will post updates on Instagram so audiences can follow the day’s festivities.

Throughout the month of June the Metropolitan Opera Guild has been spotlighting artists from the LGBT+ community to celebrate Pride.
