The National Centre for Early Music is set to celebrate Early Music Day by hosting The Gesualdo Six for an artistic residency.

The residency will climax in the famed ensemble performing a virtual concert on March 21, 2021, in honor of Early Music Day.

Additionally, throughout the residency The Gesualdo Six will film and share its music throughout the month of March, showcasing some of the most historic and incredible sights in York.

In a press release, Owain Park, Director of The Gesualdo Six stated, “After a challenging year it has been a delight to put our minds to this incredibly exciting project. We have long admired the work of NCEM in York and so it has been an immense privilege to curate a musical journey which weaves through the city’s historic venues. Chiming with the NCEM’s spring celebrations, we aim to highlight the extraordinary power of collaboration and unity in a world where the seeds of division are increasingly sown.”
