The Dallas Opera to Launch ‘OperaTruck’ 2026 with ‘The Three Little Pigs’
By David SalazarThe Dallas Opera will kick off its spring “OperaTruck” season on March 14, 2026, at Grand Prairie Memorial Library with a free performance of “The Three Little Pigs.”
The “OperaTruck” is a mobile outdoor stage set up on the flatbed of an 18-wheel truck, driven out into the community for free 30-minute family-friendly opera performances each spring and fall. The spring 2026 production presents the classic tale in English, designed as an introduction to opera for young audiences.
There will also be performances at White Rock Hills Branch Library on March 28, Park Forest Branch Library on April 25, and Pleasant Grove Branch Library on May 2, all at 11 a.m. All performances are held outdoors on the “OperaTruck” stage, with inclement weather moving the show inside the venue.
The truck is supplied by TDO Board Chair Quincy Roberts through his company, Roberts Trucking. The program has operated in this format since 2021.
