The Dallas Opera has announced that Kristian Roberts will assume the role of Director of Education.

Roberts has had a lengthy association with the company, starting with her participation as a performing artists in The Dallas Opera Chorus back in 2008 for a production of “Porgy and Bess.” She was also the co-host of the company’s outdoor live simulcast series.

Roberts joined The Dallas Opera’s administrative staff in 2008 and was working as senior education manager. She is also one of the co-hosts of the “Taking the Stage with Kristian and Quo” program on TDO Network.

“I am especially proud to promote Kristian Roberts,” says Ian Derrer, The Kern Wildenthal General Director and CEO. “Her commitment and imaginative leadership as The Dallas Opera’s Senior Education Manager made Kristian the natural choice for an expanded role as our director of education.

Roberts is a member of the Advisory Board and Arts Council for Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She also serves on OPERA America’s ALAANA Network Steering Committee.
