The Dallas Opera has announced a cast change for its 2024-25 production of Verdi’s “La Traviata.”

The company noted that tenor Xabier Anduaga, who was scheduled to make his TDO debut in the role of Alfredo Germont, has withdrawn from these appearances due to family reasons. Replacing Anduaga in the role of Alfredo Germont, in their TDO debuts, are Javier Camarena, on Oct. 18, 20, 23 and 26, and Bekhzod Davronov on Oct. 27.

Camarena will star alongside soprano Yaritza Véliz while Davronov will sing alongside Sara Gartland. Alfredo Daza sings all performances in the role of Giorgio Germont. Iván López Reynoso conducts the production by Louisa Muller.

“La Traviata” will be performed from Oct. 18 to 27, 2024.
