
The Crossing to Perform World Premiere by Nathalie Joachim
By Francisco SalazarThe Crossing is set to present the world premiere of Nathalie Joachim’s new piece based on the writings of Benjamin Franklin.
Joachim is a Grammy-nominated performer and composer who centers her creative practice on authentic commitment to storytelling and human connectivity while advocating for social change and cultural awareness.
Her compositions are informed by her work as a professional vocalist and flutist, as well as her affinity with a wide variety of musical styles, including indie rock, pop, classical, and hip hop.
Cellist Thomas Masa will headline the performances, which will be held on June 27 at Broad Street, Philadelphia and June 28 at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. The concert will also feature works by Jennifer Higdon, Kile Smith, Robert Maggio, Julia Wolfe, James Primosch, and Benjamin C.S. Boyle.
