The Cleveland Orchestra’s Education & Community Engagement Programs has announced updates for its 2020-21 season, comprised of a number of free and family-friendly videos and resources.

Over the summer and fall, the orchestra performed 30 concerts across regional medical centers in support of health workers, as well as 50 socially-distanced pop-up concerts in public spaces.

Free to all schools, Digital Education Concerts will be offered season-long thanks to a gift from Mrs. Jane B. Nord and support from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Led by CO Assistant Conductor Vinay Parameswaran. These concerts will be provided to regional students from grades 3-8.

By popular request, the orchestra has also released a new video series called “Choose Your Instrument!” featuring artists sharing their insight and experience about their individual instruments.

Their adult learning program, Music Study Groups, has been taken digital as well with “Music In Depth.” Led by Dr. Rose Breckenridge, audiences can tune in to virtual lectures and guided listening sessions using pieces from CO’s “In Focus” series, which is available on the Adella streaming app.

This season the Lullaby Project, where pregnant and new mothers work with CO musicians to create and share personal lullabies for their babies, will be held virtually. The orchestra has partnered with the Pregnant with Possibilities Resource Center to help connect participants with resources for early-childhood development.
