
The Atlanta Opera Announces 2025-26 Studio Artists
By David SalazarThe Atlanta Opera has announced the roster for its 2025-26 Studio Artists program.
The group includes tenor Wayd Odle and soprano Alexis Seminario, who will both return for their second season. They will be joined by mezzo-soprano Ilanna Starr, baritone Kyle White, and stage director José García, Jr. Throughout the season, the artists will train and perform across the company’s productions.
“As we celebrate the tenth anniversary of The Atlanta Opera’s Studio Artists, we reflect on a decade of extraordinary growth and artistic excellence,” said Meredith Wallace, Director of Artistic Administration, per an official press release. “Our alumni are now performing on some of the world’s greatest stages, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome this new class of remarkable talents.”
Seminario, winner of the 2025 Butler Opera International Competition, has performed with The Atlanta Opera as a Studio Artist and appeared with The Santa Fe Opera. Starr has performed with l’Opéra de Montréal, Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera, Concerts Lachine, and as a Tanglewood Vocal Fellow. Meanwhile, Odle has appeared with The Atlanta Opera, The Santa Fe Opera, The Dallas Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, and Lyric Opera of Kansas City, while White has performed with Fargo Moorhead Opera, Opera San Antonio, Austin Opera, Salt Marsh Opera, Madison Opera, and The Santa Fe Opera. García, Jr. (“Joey”) has worked with The Glimmerglass Festival, Aspen Opera Theater & VocalARTS, PROTOTYPE Festival, Des Moines Metro Opera, Red River Lyric Opera, Druid City Opera, Chicago Summer Opera, and Florida State Opera, among others.
