The Academy of Vocal Arts Announces 2020-21 Season

Following a successful fall virtual season, The Academy of Vocal Arts has announced its virtual spring 2021 season, featuring a number of online performance opportunities for their roster of young artists.

This year’s 2020-21 roster of resident artists is comprised of sopranos Aubry Ballaro, Yihan Duan, Leolla Grahn, Joana Latini, Emily Margevich, Kara Mulder, Renee Richardson, and Ethel Trujillo; mezzo-sopranos Alice Chung, Monique Galvao, Chelsea Laggan, Pascale Spinney, and Anne Marie Stanley; tenors Zachary Rioux, Shawn Roth, and Sahel Salam; baritones Benjamin Dickerson, Daniel Gallegos, Kevin Godinez, and Titus Muzi; and basses Peter Barber Eric Delagrange, Cody Muller, and Griffen Hogan.

The season will open with “A Celebration of American Composers.” Music directed by Luke Housner, the program will feature pieces by Copland, Menotti, Barber, Ives, Bowles, and Scheer. Performers include sopranos Aubry Ballaro and Kara Mulder, mezzo Chelsea Laggan, baritone Titus Muzi, and bass Eric Delagrange.

“Jubliate! A Concert of Sacred Music” will be music directed by David Lofton, with performers and the program announced at a later date.

Next up is “Verlaine Confessions – French Recital.” With music direction and accompaniment by Audrey Saint-Gil, the program will include selections by Caplet, Chausson, Dupont, and more.

Finally, the Academy of Vocal Arts will present a graduation recital to close out the season.
