
Tenor Matthew Corcoran Features in the Oscar Winning Film ‘The Singers’

Tenor Matthew Corcoran makes an appearance in the film, singing a portion of “Vesti la Giubba.”
The film tells the story of an impromptu sing-off that will decide the best singer in a bar one night. The film was based on a 19th-century Russian story by Ivan Turgenev that depicts an improvised sing-off by downtrodden patrons in a pub.
The film went on to win the Oscar Best Short Film following premieres at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival, Florida Film Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival, and AFI Fest. The film is currently available Netflix.
Corcoran has appeared at The Dallas Symphony, The Dallas Opera, The Dallas Winds, Boston Lyric Opera, Tulsa Opera, and Painted Sky Opera.
