Teatro San Carlo to Establish Scholarship in Honor of GiovanBattista Cutolo

By Francisco Salazar

Following the murder of GiovanBattista Cutolo, the Teatro San Carlo has announced that it will establish a scholarship in the horn player’s name.

Superintendant Carlo Fuorte said the scholarship would be established for young and promising musicians. Fuorte also said that he believes that all institutions in the city should look forward and invest in culture in order to better society.

He concluded that the scholarship would be an incentive for young musicians to help finance their future. He noted that the San Carlo will always be in favor of bettering its community and society.

Cutolo was murdered on August 31 in a fight by a 16-year-old. Cutolo was a 24-year-old horn player and a member of the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti-Young.
