The Teatro San Carlo has canceled its upcoming Eygpt concert which was originally set to take place on Oct. 11, 2023.

Soloist Jonas Kaufmann took to social media and said, “Dear Friends, The Teatro di San Carlo in Naples has announced that the concert in Egypt, originally scheduled for Wednesday, October 11, has been canceled out of respect for the current developments in Israel. I hope we can make up for the concert in peaceful times.”

The concert was set to include Kaufman alongside Fatma Said, and Maria Agresta. Giacomo Sagripanti was set to conduct.

This is the latest cancelation following the terrorist attack by Hamas and the declaration of war by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Israeli Opera has already canceled all performances, while the Cleveland Orchestra canceled its tour to Israel.
