Teatro Regio di Parma to Open New ‘Don Pasquale’ Production

Donizetti’s ‘Don Pasquale’ will inaugurate the Teatro Regio di Parma’s Estate al Parco della Musica on Thursday, June 30, 2021.

The work will return to Parma after a 28-year absence and will be directed by Pier Francesco Maestrini in a co-production with l’Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese.

The stage design and videos will be by Guillermo Nova with costumes by Luca Dall’Alpi and lighting by Andrea Borelli. The production will include choreography by Michele Cosentino and conducted by Martino Faggiani.

“Don Pasquale” will star Laura Giordano (Norina), Antonio Mandrillo (Ernesto), Federico Longhi (Don Pasquale), Pablo Galvez (Dottor Malatesta), and Giulio Riccò (Notaio).

The opera will be performed through July 11 for four performances.

The season will also include productions of “Carmina Burana” as well as numerous concert performances.
