Teatro Regio di Parma Releases New Children’s Book on Rossini

The Teatro Regio di Parma has released a new book “Gioachino Rossini, Musicista Buogustaio.”

The new work is the latest volume in Cristina Bersanelli and Patrizia Barbieri’s children’s books and arrived on Feb. 29, 2024, to celebrate the composer’s 232th birthday. It will be available at the Teatro Regio di Parma’s bookstore and online.

Rossini was born in Pesaero and at the age of 18 showcased his first opera and in six years wrote 16 works. In total, he wrote 39 operas. He became known for such operas as “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” “La Cenerentola,” Semiramide,” “Le Comte Ory,” “Guillaume Tell,” and “L’Italiana in Algeri,” among many others.

The children’s book series has seen releases that include books about Giuseppe Verdi, Maria Callas, Gaetano Donizetti, Giacomo Puccini, Arturo Toscanini, Renata Tebaldi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Gioachino Rossini. “Musicista buongustaio” completes the series which is available in Italian and English.
