The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced a new Superintendent.

The board of directors of the Teatro Regio di Parma said that it had chosen Luciano Messi as the new Superintendent from 2022 to 2025.

In a statement Michele Guerra, Mayor of Parma and President of the Teatro Regio Foundation said, “I am sure, together with the other members of the Board of Directors of the Teatro Regio Foundation, that Luciano Messi will have the skills, experience, and sensitivity to guide our Theater towards an artistic, cultural and social development that gives value to our city and that it maintains the solidity of international relationships built up over the years.”

In response to his new position, Messi said, “the Teatro Regio di Parma is an artistic institution of recognized excellence whose strength lies in the synthesis between tradition and innovation, and in the human capital that works and supports it. My vision is that of a Regio in authentic dialogue with its territory and at the same time at the heart of our country’s cultural challenges, as well as at the center of an intense network of international relations.”

Messi is the president of ATIT – Associazione dei Teatri Italiani di Tradizione, Vicepresident of FEDERVIVO, and director of the Fondazione Rete Lirica delle Marche. He was Superintendent of the Associazione Arena Sferisterio di Macerata from 2015 to 2022.
