Teatro Regio di Parma Announces New Cast Change for ‘Il Trovatore’

The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced a cast change for its Oct. 2 performance of “Il Trovatore.”

The company said that due to indisposition Silvia Dalla Benett†a will not be able to perform the role of Leonora. As a result, Marigona Qerkezi will sing the role.

Qerkezi has performed at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Rossini Opera Festival, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, New National Theatre in Tokyo, Theater Kiel, Teatro Verdi di Pisa, and the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb.

The soprano joins a cast that includes Angelo Villari (Manrico), Simon Mechlinski (Conte di Luna), Rossana Rinaldi (Azucena), Alessandro Della Morte (Ferrando), Davide Tuscano (Ruiz – Un messo), Ilaria Alida Quilico (Ines), and Chuanqi Xu (Un vecchio zingaro). Sebastiano Rolli conducts the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini.

Silvia Dalla Benetta is set to return to the production for the final two performances scheduled for Oct. 8 and 13, 2022.
