Teatro Regio di Parma Announces Institute for Young Voices
By Francisco SalazarThe Teatro Regio di Parma has announced an institute for young voices beginning during the 2021-22 season.
Singers from ages seven to 14 can apply to the program but young men whose voice has already matured will be exempt. The institute will be divided into two groups; the first will be for singers ages seven and eight while the second group will for singers ages nine to 14.
Applications will be available until Sept. 5 and more information can be seen on teatroregioparma.it.
On Sept. 13, the institute will contact the candidates who have been chosen from the preliminary auditions and the final selections will be made on Sept. 16 with live auditions.
The new institute’s objective is to educate young audiences and give students the opportunity to discover their musical sensibilities and music theory. The training course also aims to provide suitable preparation for any subsequent admission to the children’s chorus.
Admission to the Coro di voci bianche will allow young voices the ability to participate in operas, concerts, and other presentations from the Teatro Regio di Parma’s Stagione Lirica, Festival Verdi, or Verdi Off.
The institutes program will begin on Sept. 27 and will end in Sept. 2022. There will be vacation from June to August.
