The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced the six sopranos set to participate in the Chamber Vocal Laboratory Artistic Residency, running June 12–23, 2026.

The sopranos include Claudia Belluomini, Chiara Boccabella, Nicoletta Briguglio, Francesca Mannino, Veronica Marini, and Maria Olimpia Renna. The sextet, aged between 19 and 34 and hailing from regions across Italy including Tuscany, Sicily, Lombardy, and Lazio, were selected from 57 applicants across 12 countries.

The program features 70 hours of teaching activities led by faculty including Silvia Dalla Benetta, Martino Faggiani, Francesco Izzo, Sebastiano Rolli, Riccardo Zanellato, and Claudia Zucconi, focusing on repertoire by Verdi, Ferdinando Paër, Emanuele Muzio, Giovanni Bottesini, Arrigo Boito, and their contemporaries. The residency concludes with two public concerts and the recording of a CD featuring selections from the works studied.

The project’s partners include the National Institute of Verdi Studies and the University of Parma. The residency was also organized with the support of Italy’s Ministry of Culture (MiC) and SIAE as part of the “Per Chi Crea” program.

“Chamber vocal repertoire with piano accompaniment allows us to enter the intimacy of 19th-century salons, honing our attention to detail and the connection between music and poetic text. This is a study path that can significantly enrich each singer’s technical and interpretative skills,” Francesco Izzo, Director of Studies at the Accademia Verdiana and a member of the selection commission, said, per an official press release.
