Teatro Regio di Parma Announces Finalists for ‘La Bohème’ Project

The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced the four finalists for its directorial project for Puccini’s “La bohème” for its 2024-25 season.

The competition is promoted by the OperaLombardia circuit in coproduction with the Fondazione Teatro Regio di Parma and Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia, in collaboration with Opera Europa.

The Teatro Regio di Parma announced that there were 58 proposed projects from Italy, Poland, Spain, Germany, Bulgaria, Malta, Romania, and Ireland.

The jury was headed by Sovrintendente of the Teatro Regio Luciano Messi and director Elena Barbalich and also included Barbara Minghetti (Teatro Sociale di Como), Alessio Vlad (Teatro Regio di Parma), Paolo Cantù (iTeatri di Reggio Emilia), Andrea Cigni (Teatro Ponchielli di Cremona), Francesco Nardelli (Teatro Fraschini di Pavia), and Roberto Catalano.

The finalists are Michele Soldo with team “Grazie le faremo sapere” director Hannah Louise Calascione and the team “Katie, Rusalka, Anastasia & Lennox,” director Emanuela Bafunno with team “La scatola dei ricordi,” and director Stefano Ferrara and the team “La soffitta.”
