Teatro Real President Receives Honor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos

The President of the Teatro de Madrid Gregorio Marañón has been honored with Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.

The honor was bestowed on Marañón at the university which saw Minister of Culture Ernest Urtasun, Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations Félix Bolaños, Government Delegate Pilar Trinidad, and the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Sports of the Community of Madrid Mariano de Paco in attendance.

Marañón was honored for his merit and for the work he has done throughout his career.

In his speech, Javier Ramos López, rector of the URJC, pointed out that the doctorate awarded to Gregorio Marañón recognizes him “one of the best” highlighting “his humanist spirit”, “with a curious and open outlook.”

Marañón has been the president of the Teatro Real since 2008 and has become one of the most important theaters in the international panorama.
