The Teatro Municipale di Piacenza has announced a cast change for its production of “I Due Foscari.”

The company said that Marigona Qerkezi will sing the role of Lucrezia Contarini replacing Marina Rebeka, who was originally announced.

For her part, Qerkezi said, “Delighted to announce that I will be giving life to my beloved ‘Lucrezia Contarini’ in Verdi’s “I due Foscari” once more, this time at the beautiful Teatro Municipale di Piacenza. Join me on May 3rd and 5th, 2024! Can’t wait to see you all”

The soprano is set to join a cast that includes Luca Salsi and Luciano Ganci. Matteo Beltrami conducts a production by Joseph Franconi Lee. 

Rebeka returns to the stage in May for a performance of Verdi’s Requiem.
