Walnut Creek’s Festival Opera has announced its 2024 season.

There will be two editions of “Opera in the Park.” Both feature Lila Khazoum, Courtney Miller, Taylor Thompson, and Liam Daley. They are joined by pianist Chun Mei Wilson and host Zachary Gordin.

Performance Dates: June 20, 2024 at Orinda Community Park & June 23 at Civic Park

The mainstage production is a double bill of “La voix humaine” and “Dido & Aeneas.” The Purcell stars Kindra Scharich, Lila Khazoum, Lily Bogas, Matthew Lovell, Sara Couden, Taylor Thompson, Courtney Miller, and Reuben Zellman. Céline Ricci directs and Zachary Gordin conducts.

The Poulenc monopera stars Carrie Hennessy and pianist Robert Mollicone. Céline Riccci also directs.

Performance Dates: July 12 & 14, 2024

There will also be a series of Festival Artist Recitals.

First up is “Lucky in Love” with mezzo-soprano Kindra Scharich and pianist Jeffrey LaDeur.

Performance Date: Sept. 22, 2024

Then comes “Nothing to Fear” with contralto Sara Couden and pianist Derek Tam.

Performance Date: Oct. 27, 2024

Closing out the series is “Muses and Musings of an Impresario” with baritone Zachary Gordin and pianist Daniel Lockert.

Performance Date: Nov. 17, 2024
